And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up out of Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and of the lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child.

When they arrived in Bethlehem, the town was full of people who had also come to be registered. It was time for Mary to give birth, and so, they tried to find room at the inn. But, the inn was crowded, and there was no room. Except, well, the stable, where the hay was in the back. And so, Mary and Joseph went to the lowly shelter and there, Jesus was born.

And there were in the same country, shepherds in the fields, keeping watch over their flocks by night.

And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, And glory shone all around

Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy!

For unto you is born this day in the city of David

a Savior, which is Christ The Lord.
